Another way to straighter teeth
Does your lifestyle mean that braces are not an option for you – you simply cannot wear metal train track bracket and wires for up to two years?
If so, you may have disregarded teeth straightening treatment. There is, however, another way.
Dental technology has advanced considerably in the last 20 years, which means that it is now possible to have your teeth straightened without anyone else knowing! Here at Sheen Dental in SW14, Invisalign clear aligners straighten our patients’ teeth discreetly.
To date, more than 4 million patients worldwide have used Invisalign. One reason it is so well-loved is because it has such a low impact on lifestyle.
Invisalign in SW14: how it works
Invisalign is made up of a series of clear, thermoplastic aligners that snap over the teeth and gums, much like thin mouth guards.
Because they are transparent, they can’t be seen, unless someone is really close up and examining your teeth. This leaves you free to go about your daily life without anyone knowing you are wearing braces: no stares from strangers or personal comments from your work mates.
The aligners are custom-made using 3D digital imaging and they fit the unique profile of your mouth, so there is no soreness from brackets or wires digging into your gums.
There is no need to worry about food getting caught in wires, as there are no wires! You take out the aligners for cleaning, eating and drinking anything other than plain water, otherwise they will stain. You need to wear them for 20-22 hours a day, but if you really want to make sure no one will know you are having your teeth straightened, it is possible to remove them for an hour or so for an extra special occasion.
It takes 9 – 18 months to complete treatment with Invisalign in SW14, depending on the severity of your case. You will then need to wear a retainer for up to a year to make sure your teeth stay in their new position.
Not all misalignments can be treated with Invisalign – come and talk to our Invisalign dentist today and find out if it could work for you.
